Professor Lamberts will talk about energy use in buildings in Brazil. He shall further speak on the topics Energy Labeling of residential and commercial buildings, and Benchmarking of energy use in buildings.
Roberto Lamberts graduated in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1980). He received his master’s degree in engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1983) and PhD in Civil Engineering from University of Leeds (1988). He is currently a professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. He works in the area of Civil Engineering with emphasis on energy efficiency, thermal performance of buildings, bio-climatology and thermal comfort.
He is currently a supervisor of the Energy Efficiency Laboratory Building at UFSC, co-editor of the journal Built Environment, member of editorial board for the Journal of Building Performance Simulation, member of ANTAC scientific associations, the Built Environment Technology Association, Brazilian member of the Council for Sustainable Construction (CBCS) and IBPSA, International Building Performance Simulation Association. He is also a member of the technical group (GT MME) supporting the development of energy efficiency labelling in buildings in Brazil.
He is on the editorial board of Ambiente Construido, E-mat, and the Habitare book series as well as Advances in Building Energy Research. He was a winner of the Holcim Awards Bronze 2005 in Latin America for Solar water heating and rainwater tower, Florianopolis, Brazil.
